Effective Date: 12th May 2017
The Heads of Agreement, effective from 12th May 2017, marks the collaborative initiative between Malaika Investments Inc. (MII) and Bombay Finance India Pvt Ltd (BFI). This memorandum outlines the shared intent of both parties to jointly develop a comprehensive sugar refinery project, including backward integration into sugar plantation.
MII aims to establish a state-of-the-art sugar refinery in Liberia, with subsequent expansion plans targeting Nigeria. To realize this vision, MII seeks a joint venture partnership with BFI, focusing on technical collaboration and operational excellence for setting up and managing the refinery.
The agreement also reflects the intention to associate with reputed firms possessing proprietary technology and expertise in sugar manufacturing. These firms will contribute essential components and know-how for the development of the refinery and integrated agricultural infrastructure.
MII brings valuable industry experience and regional knowledge in sugar production, power, infrastructure, and logistics across Liberia and the broader region. This strategic alliance aims to leverage the strengths of both MII and BFI for sustainable development in the sugar sector.
